Welcome!

G’day! 안녕! 你好! Guten Tag!

I’m Lee, and I really appreciate you taking the time to visit my blog!

I am an Australian primary school PE teacher and have been thoroughly enjoying my life in China since 2017. From my early days in the Australian Army Reserves and training as a Personal Fitness Coach to my mid-life crisis as an ultra endurance runner and student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I have always been engrossed in and captivated by everything related physical, mental and emotional health.

As a both a teacher and a father, I feel that now more than ever, our kids need to build a habit of, and positive relationship with, movement. Understanding from an early age the benefits of regular exercise and how good it can make us feel, is vital to long term physical, mental and emotional health.

The current literature on the benefits of physical activity for kids (and adults for that matter) is substantial! Our health and physical development aside, a regular movement practice can positively enhance a wide array of cognitive and emotional abilities, which include (but certainly not limited to) improved focus, increased memory, reduction of stress and anxiety, higher levels of energy and if that’s not enough… it’s a know booster of positive mood. A quick 15 minute physically active game or mini-workout could quite literally mean the difference between struggling with or absolutely crushing a nerve biting test/assignment/presentation/group work task.

With all of that said, this blog serves as a resource for parents and teachers alike, in providing practical tips to support the overall healthy development of today’s youth.

Yours in learning and good health,

Lee 🙂
